Day 5 North Carolina Trip....Cold weather!

We left Albuquerque this morning at it was 21 degrees this morning.  As we drove across the rest of New Mexico, the panhandle of Texas and into Oklahoma it got steadily colder.  The vegetation along the road and all the trees for some miles were white with frost.

The roads were perfect, however.  No ice and dry all the way.  I've praying for God to give us a safe path to NC and so far He has seen fit to answer that prayer with a yes!  Praying he continues to as we drive into more severe cold over the next couple of days.

Today's drive was much the same as the drive through the other states since we left Idaho.  Long roads, vast areas of uninhabited land and sore neck and shoulder muscles from the long hours of sitting.  I never dreamed my neck and shoulders could get so sore from driving and riding so long in the car!  I'm taking Tylenol now just to tolerate it.  Osteoarthritis in the neck and long days in the car do not mix well.

The funny sign of the day was a cafe called the Windy Cow Cafe in Texas.  I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like a very pleasant cafe to eat at!  Sounds stinky!  Ha!

We have noticed that they have really fancy rest areas in Texas and Oklahoma.  Some even offer free coffee and have gift shops.  Make me want to stop at them!

Well, we made it into Weatherford, OK before dark. That was my goal today.  Gassed up, ordered food to go and came back to the motel to eat and relax.  It's been nice.

It is 18 degrees here with a wind chill of 9 degrees.  Brrr!
