Today we found a nice mechanic to install the knock sensor on Sarah's car. He is prices were very reasonable and my brother in law said it was a bargain.
So we hit the road again. There was snow all around, but the roads were clear outside of the towns. God has been very merciful to us snow-wise. We have not had to drive in any falling snow, and all the roads have been in good driving condition except in some of the towns where the speeds are slow and it wasn't a big deal.
We stopped at Plant Therapy in Twin Falls and we each bought an essential oil and a defuser necklace. They gave us a gift bag with a few goodies. One of the goodies was a Lemon Squeezie, which is great for stress relief. They suggest you take it with you on vacation and take selfies to post to social media with the hash tag #travelplanttherapy. You get your name put in a drawing for a prize each week. So here is my picture for Wells, Nevada. Ha, ha!
So we crossed into the Nevada and are greeted with big crossing arms like you see at a railroad crossing. Good thing they were up and there was no snow because apparently the road becomes impassible at times due to blowing snow and they close the whole business down! Thank you, Lord for making a clear path for us again.
The only scary thing that happened today when an outlaw was trying out-run the cops. He was in our lane heading straight for us passing cars left and right. He got back into his own lane just in the nick of time. Sarah saw him coming and slowed down and pulled to the shoulder as best she could. Right after that two police cars came in hot pursuit. We are hoping he ran out of gas, because there are no gas stations anywhere out there for miles and nothing to hide behind either because it's all fields of sage brush. Thank you, Lord again for your protection over us.
We came into Ely and stopped at McDonalds. We were so happy the snow was all gone and it was 48 degrees! At Caldwell it was 28 degrees. We froze to death there. Anyway, this family came in and they were complaining how cold it was in Ely. We laughed and asked where they came from. They came from Arizona where they had 81 degrees! I guess it is all a matter of perspective related to where you have come from as to whether you think 48 degrees is cold or warm! Ha!
We ate, got our motel and then went out to find the car wash and get all the salt off our car from Idaho. It was a mess.
Now we are settling in for the evening and hoping a good night's sleep. We are on the top floor so hoping for a quieter night than last night.
Tomorrow, it's Area 51 and Las Vegas!
Thank you all so much for your continued prayers for this trip. It's a real exercise in faith. I hate traveling long distances, especially without my guys along.
