Marsha's Musings: That We Might Live Through Him (1 John 4:9-11 KJV)

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. (1 John 4:9-11 KJV)

Our pastor has been teaching through the book of Ecclesiates and this passage goes nicely with that.  We have been learning that we are to enjoy life under the sun with a conscience toward God.

"That we might live through Him" can mean two different things.

1. That we might have eternal life and escape the condemnation that unbelievers will experience at the judgment.

2. That we might really live abundantly while on this earth, rejoicing and enjoying all the things that God has given us both materially and spiritually.

Am I really living through Him?  What  can I do differntly to do that?  How ccan I help those around me to do that too?
