Marsha's Musings: Dwelling In God and He In Us (1 John 4:12-16 KJV)

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. (1 John 4:12-16 KJV)

Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit...he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Could it be that the secret place of the most High is love and when we as Christians love each other as He has loved us, we are dwelling in the secret place of God and are under the shadow of the Almighty?

Also in this passage is another assurance of salvation.  God gives us His Spirit to teach us and guide us and to help us apply the Word of God to our hearts. If a person is not convicted of sin and spurred on by the Word to love others, then God's Spirit is not present in the life because these are part of what gives us assurance that we dwell in Him.

I've always loved Psalm 91:1 and this gives a whole new perspective to me.
