Marsha's Musings: Remember, Follow, Consider (Hebrews 13:7 NKJV)

Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. (Hebrews 13:7 NKJV)

First off, the author is talking about those who preach and teach the Bible correctly and not mixed with false teaching. They handle the word of truth rightly.  Correct doctrine matters.

2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

These are the ones that we are to remember, that we should follow their example and consider the outcome of their conduct.

It doesn't matter what a person's conduct is like if they teach false doctrine.  They may be the sweetest, nicest people we ever met.  They may make us feel loved and accepted, but if they teach doctrine that is contrary to the Bible then we are not to follow them.  Correct doctrine matters. Feelings  and emotions decieve.  Please, please search the Scriptures.  Read verses in context and learn the truth of Scripture before joining up with any religious group.

If you have found a church that teaches the truth of the Bible, then by all means, follow their faith, consider the outcome of their conduct and remember them.  Pray for them, follow their example. Support them.
