Marsha's Musings: Press On! (Titus 3:7 KJV)

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 3:7 KJV)

The results of justification by God's grace is that we become heirs to the hope of eternal life.  I like some of the other translations of this verse.

The NET version says:

And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.” (Titus 3:7 NET)

It's not just an I hope so sort of hope.  It's a confidnet expectation of eternal life. It's a know so sort of hope!

This is so encouraging when things down here seem to be getting worse and worse each day all around us and we begin to feel pain in our bodies, we know that we have an eternal hope in heaven.  There is something to look forward to that is good.  Like the runner that pushes his body and feels the pain and exhaustion of the race but keeps pressing on because he has his eye on the prize, we can keep our eye on the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus because our hope is confident that the prize  will be there when we get there.

Press on!
