This seems self evident. All one needs to do is turn on the religious TV station or walk into a Christian bookstore and you will find tons of stuff put out by so called Christians who are really nothing but impostors out to make a fast buck.
Just look at the most recent scandal involving Mark Driscoll. Instead of writing his own material for his books he has used ghostwriters and plagiarizing to get as many out as fast as he can while he has a following. What a way to make money and deceive people!
It's a sad day we live in when people do not take Scripture seriously when it says a pastor should be above reproach. We should take this seriously and evaluate those we listen to and read in this light. If we don't we may find ourselves being deceived.
