Still a Need for Prophets? What Does the Bible Say?

I recently picked up a booklet that came in my parent's newspaper and found this paragraph in it.  To the untrained eye, it sounds good, doesn't it?  But let's take a look at what the Bible has to say.

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs. Hebrews 1:1-4

What does this say?  When did God speak to us through prophets?   In the past...
How has He spoken to us now?   ...in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son,...

Do we need prophets today?  No!  Why not?  Because God has spoken to us and still speaks to us through His Son in and through the Word of God, the Bible.  He still speaks to us through the prophet's writing in the Bible as well.

So what's the harm in having modern day prophets?
1. It's not Biblical!
2. It's ignores what Jesus Christ has already told us as well as what the prophets of old have told us.
3. It tells God that His way isn't good enough and that we know better.
4. It says that the Bible is not enough, what God has said in His Word is not enough.
5. What the modern day prophet says adds to the Bible and often contradicts it.
