Journal Entry for Sept. 17, 2011 And so we wait...

Last night was a bad night of sleep. I got to thinking about the fact that if we haven't found transportation for S before SEL calls, if they want to hire her, she can't very well take the job since they will be offering her a job in P...not in L.... There is no way I can be expected to drive three hours a day to transport her to work and back. Rick is looking at this from a guy standpoint. He looks at it that it's too good a position to pass up if it's offered so she needs to do anything possible to get it even if it means moving to Pullman and riding public transit. I on the other hand am looking at it from a safety standpoint. It's a great opportunity but not in the location that she thought she was applying for. To move up to Pullman and ride public transit to work would mean she would be walking either to or from a bus stop (depending on which shift) in the dark by herself. This is not an acceptable option in my mind for any job, no matter how good it is. S seems to feel the same way I do. Rick understands better since I explained it to him that way. He wasn't looking at safety at all. All he was seeing was a good job opportunity that needed to be taken almost at all costs.

So, if she is offered the job, and we are thinking she will be since they were calling the library for recommendations from her bosses, it all hinges on transportation to and from the valley. The website for the van pool has a broken link and we can't seem to find anything out until Monday when we can call them. The suspense and stress is driving me to distraction.

Her interview at the yogurt shop went well. She also hear about it in a few days as well. And so we wait and learn to be patient and trust God to come through with whatever He deems best.

These life changes and adjustments to growing up are as hard on us parents as they are on the kids.

Today, I spent a good share of time in the car. Driving practice with S. Ferrying kids to work and ultimate Frisbee, more driving practice w/ S.

In between all that I attempted to get the school records caught up and assignments set up for next week and next week's schedule printed off of Cozi.com.

I also lost out on another auction. Got outbid on a pair of brand new watches that retailed at $249. Ugh. Some day I will win an auction....
