When you live in Washington State

When you live in Washington State, if you aren't happy with the weather, then just be patient, it will change. Today we started out with cloudy weather. By afternoon we had downpours of rain. Now it is early evening, the sun is coming out and I see blue sky over the hill.

I remember one day some years ago when the sun was shining in my front yard and it was raining in the back yard.

For a while I gained the reputation of bringing storms to county fairs. The sun would be shining and warm, but after I showed up on the scene, one lone black cloud would come over and pour rain on us.

We have no lack for variety here in weather. I am reminded of what I read in my Bible last night. In Daniel's prayer he says,
Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
God is in control of what the weather does. Yes, the rivers are flooding and we feel we've had our share of rain this spring, but God is in control. We are ready for summer, but God controls the seasons. He will change the season when He deems best.
