Quiet Time Reflections~Oct. 19

A Promise:
Ps 147:11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

A Command to Obey:
Ps 147:1 ¶ Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

Ps 147:7 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

A Timeless Principle:
Ps 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Ps 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

How Does This Apply to My Life?
  • Praise is commanded. God is pleased when I am thankful.
  • God's understanding is infinite. In other words there is no end to His understanding. He knows all the stars by name and how many there are. His knowledge is infinite as well. This means He knows all about me too. He knows my struggles, my weaknesses, my sins.
  • I'm so thankful He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. This shows His compassion.
  • Do I fear Him? Do I hope in His mercy? He takes pleasure in me when I do.

My Prayer:

Lord, praise and thanksgiving have always been hard for me. Complaining is so much easier especially when things don't go my way. Forgive me for my complaining spirit. Help me to fear You and hope in Your mercy.

Good reminder to praise and be thanful for all God has given and promised to give to His children. Let God be praised...now and always!May we shine bright as a reflection of the love of Jesus!
