Note: The response to this debate was unprecedented, with more than 10 times our normal response, in great part due to its being picked up on Internet discussion blogs. The overwhelming consensus was that certification was not needed, something that California's state appellate court agreed with shortly after the September issue of The Costco Connection had gone to press.
While thanking all those who participated, The Connection would like to reassert that the aim of the Debate, which is published every month, is to present topics for discussion that we feel would be of interest to our members. The company and the magazine take a neutral stance.---Ed.

Thanks for sharing this. I had forgotten that I had voted on this. How awesome that our "community" of homeschoolers spoke up! Most parents I speak to that send their children to other schools don't really care if people homeschool. It seems to be that teachers and legislators want the funding or just to be right. They don't always have the child in mind. I loved this debate!
Also, that praying mantis is so cool! Great pic!
Praise God!
