Devotional: A Desolate Place

“Now the day was ending, and the twelve came and said to Him, "Send the crowd away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; for here we are in a desolate place."”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:12‬ ‭NASB‬‬

Jesus provided food to strengthen the people in “a desolate place”.  Jesus is faithful to strengthen us when we are in desolate places too.  Can you remember any of the “desolate places” you have been in your life?  How did Jesus give you strength to get through those times?  Remember those times that He strengthened you in desolate places.

When we remember His help in desolate places of our lives it makes it easier to trust Him in present circumstances.  The disciples were worried about the people and themselves because they were hungry and tired. They forgot Jesus healing the sick, casting out demons, and raising a dead girl to life.  If they had thought about these things, they would not have worried about how the people would get fed.  Never forget His faithfulness in your life. When you do, then you succumb to worry.  God is faithful.  He has got this.  Trust Him.
