We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him. -1 John 5:18
We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. -1 John 5:19
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. -1 John 5:20
What do we know?
1. We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him. -1 John 5:18
That is, the one born of God does not live a lifestyle of habitual sin.
2. We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. -1 John 5:19
Our worldview is different than the unbeliever.
3. we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. -1 John 5:20
We are given an understanding of the truth.
So the question is, since we know these things, what are we going to do with this knowledge? Will apply it to our daily lives? Will we share it with those who need it? Will we remain humble with this knowledge or will we allow ourselves to become puffed up and legalistic with it? Let's ask God to help us use this knowledge that He has given us in a way that glorifies Him.
