Supposed Bible Contradiction #2

Here we have another meme made by someone who wants to cast doubt on the Bible.

yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. (Galatians 2:16 ESV)

You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. (James 2:24 ESV)

These verses are talking about two different things.

The first verse is talking about being justified before God.  We are not justified before God by our works because our works are all tainted by sin. We are only justified through faith in the works of Jesus Christ on our behalf.

The second verse is talking about being justified before men.  The unsaved looks at the Christian and unless he sees works to justify the claim that he is a Christian won't believe that he is one.

But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! (James 2:18-19 ESV)

Also, our faith is a working faith.  Good works are the RESULT of being justified by faith alone in Christ.

Again, this is a meme made by someone who wants to cast doubt on God's Word and the Christian faith, but they don't know what they are talking about.
