Too often I've put the emphasis on the part about having confidence and not being ashamed at His coming, and neglect the conditions for these things. This is a man centered view. It is a false view.
The God centered view is to focus on Him and abide in Him. If I forget the conditions for being unashamed and having confidence at His coming, then I am lying to myself and I will not have confidence and will be ashamed at His coming.
Abiding in Him is the key ingredient. How can I do that?
1. Daily immersing myself in the Word of God
2. Daily confession and prayer
3. Acknowledging God in all my ways
