Marsha's Musings: Denying Jesus (1 John 2:21-24 KJV)

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. (1 John 2:21-24 KJV)

There is more here than just acknowledging that Jesus was a good man that lived a long time ago.  It is accepting the whole body of truth about Him as it is presented in Scripture.

If you go to Scripture and twist it to mean what you want it to mean or cherry pick the parts you like and discard the rest then you are denying the Son and the Father.  You are denying that Jesus is the Christ and you are not abiding in Him but have made up a false Jesus and a false Father that can not save.

Similarly, if you have scripture that has been added to the Word of God, that you believe to be true, then you are worshipping a false Jesus and a false Father.

Wide is the road that accepts all these alternate views of Scripture, Jesus and God the Father...it leads to destruction.

Narrow is the road that leads to salvation.  There is only one way. Make sure you are on the narrow road.
