Marsha's Musings: Refused (Hebrews 11:24 NKJV)

By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. (Hebrews 11:24-26 NKJV)

Just think, Moses could have lived in wealth in the palace of the Pharoah and had everything he could every want.  But he knew who he was and who his people were and he knew that one day they would escape Egypt and go to the Promised Land.  He knew, because he believed God.  He had to make a choice.  He either could live according to what God had promised or he could reject His promises and live in wealth and riches.

Will I have the faith and backbone to stand up if called upon to make a choice of that magnitude?  I know of a woman right now in Sudan, who has made that choice.  She is on death row right now because she refuses to recant her faith and trust in God.
