Marsha's Musings: A Prisoner of Jesus Christ (Philemon 1:1-3 KJV)

Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer, And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house: Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Philemon 1:1-3 KJV)

Paul was in prison when he wrote this book.  I find it interesting that he did not say he was a prisoner of the Romans or of whoever had put him in prison.  He says he is a prisoner of Jesus Christ. This tells me that he believed God put him there. He could have said a prisoner for Christ, but he didn't.

Paul knew that God was in control of all things.  God put Paul in prison for a reason.  Paul wrote some of his best letters from prison and today we have his inspired writings in our Bibles.  God put him away in prison where he could think and write undistracted.

What circumstances do I find myself in at this moment?  How might God use me in this circumstance to bring glory to His name?
