Marsha's Musings: The Time HAS Come (2 Timothy 4:2-4)

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. (II Timothy 4:2-4 NKJV)

Truer words were never spoken. It says the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. The time is already here!

So many churches doing the seeker friendly thing because they don't want to offend anybody by talking about sin and judgment and their true need for a savior. Instead they tell them God loves them because they are worth it, because He sees something in them worthy of His love.  The truth of the gospel is obscured by preachers pandering to people with itching ears.

It says be ready to preach the gospel in season and out of season.  In other words, preach it even when it's not the popular or convinent thing to do.

As seen with the Duck Dynasty uproar, it's not the popular thing to do these days, particularly in the public eye! I applaud Phil Robertson for his guts to stand up and be counted!
