Marsha's Musings: Whirl Wind Life

It's been a bit since I sat down and wrote about what has been in happening in my life!  So I will take that time now while I drink my morning green tea.

On Friday I drove my youngest (17) to Tri Cities to meet up with friends coming from Tillamook, OR.  We arrived early but they got lost and had car trouble and so arrived late.  We had time to goof off a bit.  Traffic was wild.  I didn't know the hydro plane races were on.  But we got to see a fantastic air show from our seats in Jack in the Box while we ate.  We also went shopping at the second hand store for a bit and made a quick stop at Fred Meyer.  The Franke's arrive around 2pm and we visited until around 3pm when we all said our good-bye's and parted ways. Turns out I won't see Nathaniel for 17 days.  He will be back on the 10th.

My dear husband, had bought a Costco Chicken for us for dinner when we got home from Tri Cities.  So nice.

Nathaniel spent the weekend with the Franke's, visited the Ape Caves and then traveled to camp on Monday/Tuesday.  He is now on staff at camp for this week, doing maintenance jobs and kitchen duty. Next week he will be a camper.  We miss him terribly at home!  Meal time is so boring without him here.

Saturday was my regular shopping day and chores.  Sarah was off with friends after work, so Rick and I went out to eat.

Sunday we attended church.  Felt strange having Nathaniel's chair empty for the second Sunday in a row.  The previous week we gave the kids permission to attend a different church so they could see friends who were here from out of town.

Monday I was up bright and early.  I had a big dentist appointment.  Had to have an old porcelain crown removed and replaced and an old filling removed and replaced.  UGH.  I hate going to the dentist!!!!  This will cost us somewhere around $600 to $700.  OUCH.

The remainder of Monday was uneventful.  I worked around the house.

Tuesday, Rick worked in TriCities, so I had to go with him because he gets sleepy and falls asleep on the road.  I was not excited to take the trip again so soon, but this time I was able to go spend the time at the library accomplishing a bunch of paper work I needed to do as well as some reading.  I also got to enjoy the demonstration gardens that I posted photos for in a previous post.  So it wasn't too bad of a day, although the drive was tiring.

Yesterday, I ran some errands and in the afternoon I set aside a couple of hours to try to set and install a new router.  We have tried to do this in the past with no luck.  I really didn't want to drive up to Moscow to have First Step program a new router for us to the tune of $95 plus the time and gas cost.  So I was thrilled when yesterday I was able to set this thing up and get it going in less than half an hour.  It as so easy!  It was an expensive router. $85 with tax.  But I saved myself $10 in gas or more and an hour and a half driving time plus whatever time it would take to get the router and I have a feeling it would have been a lesser quality router than what I bought. I know from talking to them it was strange brand I had never heard of.  So anyway, I am happy!

So now we are to today.  Woke up to rain and a little bit of thunder.  Love it.  I can turn  off the sprinkler system for the day.  I can open all the windows and breath the fresh air!  I can hear the birds and outdoor sounds.  Love this cooler weather!  It will be this way through Friday.

Humming birds are really busy this morning at the feeder.  I'm seeing more territorial displays and more birds than usual.  I need to go out and refill it.
