(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) -2 Corinthians 5:7
I don't know about you, but when I read the daily news and see what is happening in our nation and around the world, it strikes fear into my heart. I must be reminded that I need to walk by faith and not by sight.
If I focus on what I see and hear coming from our capitol and other places, then I lose sight of the hope that I have in Christ Jesus by faith. Yes, things are getting seriously ugly at the top of our government and we are on the verge of losing precious freedoms every day, but our faith and hope isn't in our political leaders or grass roots activism to stop what they are doing. We know from Scripture that things will get worse before they get better. Therefore our hope must be solidly placed in the God of the universe. This world is not our home, we are just passing through.
Don't lose sight of the goal, the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Walk by faith, not by sight. My dad says, "We live in the nasty now and now, but we look for the sweet by and by." We can only do that when we walk by faith. Press on!
