Tribute to Judy Wilder

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15

We lost a precious dear saint of God from our church congregation this week.  But heaven gained a new member.

Judy Wilder, our church pianist and treasurer was called home suddenly on Thursday night due to a heart attack.  She did not suffer long if at all and we praise God for His mercy on her.  We are all just a little bit jealous as we know she is with our Lord now, rejoicing in heaven.

Judy was a prayer warrior.  She was always asking me what she could pray for and how me and my family were doing so she could remember us in her prayers each week.

Judy and I counted the offering money each week together.  She was so patient with me as I often bungled up my addition and had to do it over again or dig my calculator out to do it right.  Judy was so good with math, she was a human calculator.  She held three part time jobs as a book keeper!

Judy played the piano for our church.  She keep us singing in time and played in a worshipful manner.

Judy kept me from being late for the second service.  I always kept an eye out for when she would leave fellowship time and head for the restroom.  That was my cue to do the same so I would be back in my seat and ready for the prelude to the second half of church.  I always joked with her about how I always knew when it was time to make my restroom run.

I loved Judy's sense of humor.  Her sense of humor just spilled over to all those around her.  She was so much fun to be around.

She was a short lady who always had to look up to everyone else, but she was tall spiritually.  She enriched my life so much by her love for the Lord. She was a godly example to me. I never once heard her complain about anything.  She was someone who all of us ladies would do well to emulate.

She leaves a big hole in our congregation at church.  She will be missed very much for a long, long time.  We loved Judy.  She added so much to our fellowship.
