God is not man, that he should lie,
or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it?
Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? (Numbers 23:19 ESV)
This verse should give us much comfort. It tells us several things.
1. God will not lie to us. He always tells us the truth.
2. God is not fickle, tending to waffle and changing His mind all the time. We can depend on what He says.
3. God is faithful.
Do a study of other religions, and note how the ones they worship change their minds from time to time. They can't be depended upon.
The God of the Bible is wholly faithful. He will always do what He says. He is our solid Rock.
