Lessons from Creation: God Provides

Matthew 6:26 "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

During the last several weeks I have been observing, via live web camera, an eagle's nest located in Decorah, Iowa.  These eagles have been a great example to me of God's provision and of character qualities that He would have me to develop in my life.

The verse above has been so well illustrated in the eagle's lives.  They are able to bring in a veritable banquet to their nest to feed their young and each other.  Fish, squirrel, small birds, rodents, muskrats have all been brought in to feed the family.  On one particular day someone counted 15 fish!

These eagles don't have the ability to sow seeds, grow crops, reap them and store them into barns, yet our Heavenly Father sees to it that they have the food they need.  If  He cares so much for the birds of the air, are you not much more valuable than they?  He will take care of you and me too, because in His eyes, we are more valuable then the birds that He cares for.
