A Message for Teen and College Age Girls & beyond

I was perusing through photos on Facebook of some teen aged and college aged girls that I know and I am disturbed by what I am finding.

Many of them have posted up pictures of themselves that are less than modest and some though not immodest in dress are very suggestive by the way they have posed or the products they are holding.  I think you will know what I mean if you have seen or been party to posting any of these.

What disturbs me most about these types of photos is the message it sends to boys and men who see them.  It tells them that you are "easy".  It tells them you are available to be their play thing. It devalues you as a person.  It says you are not interested in saving yourself for the man you will one day marry.

Girls, is this really the message you want to send to the guys?  Do you really think that little of yourself that you would flippantly offer to give yourself to any man that comes along?  Is it your goal to end up in bed with some guy before your wedding night? This is the message that you are giving when you post up photos of yourself that are suggestive.  Do you want to give "used goods" to the man you marry on your wedding night?  This is what you are telling the world by the photos I see that are posted up on social media.

You see, a photo speaks more than a thousand words.  What do you want to tell the world about yourself?   If you want the world to know that you value yourself in the sight of God and want to please him, then you will be careful about the photos you have taken of yourself and how you pose in them.  I am totally amazed at what I learn about people on Facebook just by looking at their photos.  Sometimes I learn way more than what I wish to learn and it makes me sad to see the path that many girls are traveling these days.
