Marsha's Musings: It was a Much Needed Get Away

We spent two days and one night at the Couer D' Alene Resort in a luxury room with a lake view.  Not something we do as a general rule, but it was great fun for the whole family and very nice to get away from it all, if only for a very short time. God provided the funds to do it.

We ate at the Bonsi Bistro (Japanese Food).  We had an evening dessert at The Dockside.  Sat in the hot tub at the resort spa and the kids enjoyed the Roman style pool complete with large pillars standing in the water and steps the full length of the pool leading down into the water.

We shopped in the resort shops and surrounding stores.  The kids took the cell phone and headed off to Tubbs Hill for a hike in the woods and along the water.  They also explored the Resort, going up and down in the elevators and checking out the various floors.  They discovered there was no 13th floor button on the elevator.  So out of curiosity we asked at the front desk why there was no 13th floor.  She smiled and said it was considered bad luck to have a 13th floor!

We spent a lot of time sitting around the roaring fire in the fire place in the lobby. ( Ahem, we sat in the lobby around the fire that was in the fire place. We did not sit around the fire in the fire place!)  It was so relaxing there, (in the lobby, not in the fire place!)  We visited our favorite smoothie drink store...Jamba Juice before we left town.  It was a well deserved and needed break from the realities of life.  God is good.
