Hidden Treasure: What We are Saved To Do

Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,  teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,  looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Here is a another one of Paul's extra long sentences that is filled the brim with good stuff.

God's grace:

  • it brings salvation
  • appeared to all men
  • teaches us
  1. to deny ungodliness
  2. to deny worldly lusts
  3. to live soberly
  4. to live righteously
  5. to live godly
  6. to look for the blessed hope & appearing of Jesus Christ
What did Jesus Christ do?

  • gave Himself for us
  • redeemed us from lawless deeds
  • purifies us
  • makes us zealous to do  good works
If your brand of Christianity doesn't teach this, then maybe you better to take a second look and see if you are being taught the truth of the Bible.
