1 Timothy 4:13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. ESV
Ephesians 5:19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

1Corinthians 11:24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.
Mark 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
This is the purpose of the church in a nutshell. I don't see anything here about providing entertainment in the worship service. Plays, concerts, magic shows, karate exhibitions, and the like, no matter how spiritualized, in my opinion have no place in the church worship service. There is nothing inherently wrong with these things, they just don't belong in the worship service. The worship service is when we should be giving attention to God's Word and what it says and to the other elements of worship mentioned in the verses above. Entertainment is man-centered and should not be there. This is for other times of the week.
