Colossians 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.NIV
In the KJV it translates greed as covetousness. Coveting is a strong desire for some possession or goods. Coveting is also a strong desire for wealth. The Bible says this is idolatry! Idols are gods. This means when we covet things or are greedy for wealth that we are involved in idol worship! Ouch!
