Equality of Jesus & God the Father; God's Will

Galatians 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,

4 who gave Galatians 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,

4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

5 to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Here we see Jesus and the Father mentioned in the same breath. Paul says, “Grace and peace” from both of them, showing that they are equals, both God.

Remember in the Garden of Gethsemane when Jesus prayed?

(Matthew 26:42)  He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."?

Verse 4 tells us what Gods will was that Jesus wanted to be done.  It was that Jesus give Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

The Father planned redemption for us.

The Son accomplished redemption for us.

The Holy Spirit applies redemption to us.
