Knowledge too Wonderful & High for Me~Part 3

Knowledge too Wonderful & High for Me,Part 3

By Marsha Iddings

Psalm 139:6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

In the last two devotionals we talked about how this Psalm shows God's attributes of being all-knowing and everywhere-present.

Now the Psalm takes a shift and talks about how God is intimatly involved in our lives from before the time we were born and during our formation in the womb.

Psalm 139:13-18 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

It is amazing to me that God had all the parts of my body in His mind before any of them ever came to be. He was there and watched as my body was formed in the womb.

It is amazing to see a newborn baby. They are so tiny and they will grow and develop into adults some day, yet all the information that is needed for this to happen is contained in tiny cells called DNA.

We are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made. Only an all-knowing, everywhere-present, all-powerful God can accomplish such a marvellous thing.

Babies are indeed a miracle. Miracles are signs. Signs point to something. The miracle of a newborn baby points to our creator, God.

He was intimately invovled with you before you were born. Do you have an intimate relationship with Him? Children show us an example of how to come to God.

Luke18:17 says, " Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein."   Little children don't have any good works to offer. We must come with the humility and trust of a little child, not depending on our good works to gain us entrance into the kingdom of God, but rather on Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on our behalf.
