Some days are just like that

I had a list of things to accomplish across the river today. 

• I needed model glue from the hobby shop
• Fair handbook & entry tags from the Fair
• ph test strips and ph increaser from YB Tubless
• prices for speed loader for an airsoft magazine from two different stores
• a second estimate on the PCHE year book & a Schwan All Stabilo grease pencil at Staples

My first stop, yielded no glue.  Out of stock and will be in tomorrow, possibly.

 

I spaced out and passed the Fair Grounds.

 

My second stop was successful.  I got what I had planned at the YB Tubless.

 

I realized I forgot the Fair Grounds so had to back track and was able to get what I needed there.

 

Next stop was Tri State Outfitters.  They did not have what we needed.

 

We headed to Big 5 next with no success there either.

 

Then on to Staples.  The first estimate I was given was three times higher than all the others I got and I realized it was given on all the wrong kinds of materials.  I was hopeful  would get a more decent estimate today.  No luck.  This time after I analyzed the estimate I discoverd he didn't multiply correctly so gave me an estimate on 520 pages instead of 300 pages.  So now I have to go back yet again and talk to someone else who I hope will be better and I hope I can get an estimate I can use. 

I showed them what was left of my Schwan All Stabilo grease pencil and asked if they sold anything like it.  The clerk screwed up his nose and said, "I've never heard of that before."

 

Some days are just like that.  You hope to accomplish all these things and run into road blocks at almost every turn.  I must confess I was rather cranky on the way home. After all, I really don't have time to go running all over the valley again tomorrow. 

 

Then I am reminded of a quote I used to have on my white board.  "Be flexible or be miserable."   Obviously, I have a ways to go in learning this.  As my pastor would say, "This has been a very sanctifying day."
