Product Review: Creative Labs Xmod USB Sound Card

I got my USB Sound Card today.  I was not impressed with it at first because the instructions said nothing about having to install software to run it.  I thought it was a plug and play product.  First off, my computer didn't want to install the software because it said it wasn't correctly digitally signed.  I had to try three times to install the software.  I had trouble getting my computer to recognize it so I could make it my default sound device.  I had to try three times to get it to show up as one of the options.  After all was said and done, however, it finally started working.

I hooked up a set of small speakers to it and was quite impressed with the sound.  My computer speakers or the sound card, not sure which is going out.  I was getting a lot of distortion with my computer speakers and sometimes  sound would get stuck and repeat.  I listened to a couple of songs from Playlist and then a video from YouTube.  The only sound problem I had with either one seemed to be from buffering.  Otherwise the sound was loud and clear.  I think I will be keeping this device now that I have it working.  I'll write an update in the comments section in a couple of months or so and let you know if it is still working well for me.
