Luke 12:22-24 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? My daughter has a friend who does wild animal rescue. She was recently given a baby Quail that was just hatched to take care of. The Quail wasn't thriving as well as she thought it should, so she bought a Chuckar chick to keep it company. That seemed to be what it needed. The two bonded and the Quail thought the Chuckar was its mom. A week ago, Sarah's friend went on vacation and needed someone to take care of the baby birds, so we got to do it. We had them for ten days in a cage in our upstairs bathtub. The Quail was only two weeks old when we got it. It was just a tiny fluff ball. We enjoyed watching the birds grow and develop over the ten days we had them. God provides for the birds. We often worry and fret about our lives, if we will have enough money to provide for ourselves. But God provide for the birds and the Bible asks the question, "How much more are ye better than the fowls?" Of course, the birds go out and seek their food and build their nests. We also have a responsibility to use our resources wisely and God will provide for our needs. I thought a lot about these verses during the week we took care of the Quail and the Chuckar. God often uses His creation to teach us and remind us of valuable lessons from His Word. God is faithful!
God is faithful. None of these things move me...that I might finish my race with joy...and testify to the gospel of the grace of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 12:9; Acts 20:24 Coram Deo~Living Before the Face of God
