What I learned today

I learned some things today. Grace is not a substance that is doled out like salt from a salt shaker. Jesus Christ is grace. When I ask God to give me grace, then I am asking for Jesus Himself.

Jesus wasn't some helpless person who was crucified for His teachings. He was in sovereign of his capture and crucifixion. John tells us in chapter 7 that the Jews could not seize him because His time had not come.

Jesus laid His life down for us. No one could take His life from Him unless He allowed them to. He was in control of His own crucifixion.

Joh 10:17-18 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
