Devotional: Satisfaction Guaranteed

by Marsha Iddings

Proverbs 13:25 The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.

Those whose sins are covered by the shed blood of Christ  are seen as righteous by God.

This Proverb tells us that the righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul.

John 6:35 says " And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst."

Jesus is the word spoken of in John 1. Jesus is also the Bread of Life. When a person whose sins are forgiven and covered by Christ’s atoning blood spends time reading the Bible-- feeding on the Word of God, they will find that their  spiritual hunger begins to be satisfied. But when one who has not had that forgiveness of sins reads that same Word of God they do not find spiritual satisfaction in it. Instead they find it dry and hard to understand. They may take their  search for spiritual fulfillment elsewhere. They may try religion, drugs, climbing the corporate ladder, sex, money or a myriad of other things to fill the spiritual void.

Where do you look to fill  your spiritual hunger? Look to Jesus Christ today to satisfy your soul.  He promises that when you come to Him and believe on him You will never hunger and thirst.  I know this to be true in my experience.  Will you join me?
