Christian Misconceptions or Truth?

Christian Misconceptions or Truth?
I was recently asked if the following were Christian Misconceptions or Truth. I posted my answers...what would you say?

1 - Once you become a Christian, God will solve all of your problems.
Nope! When you become a Christian that's when all your troubles begin!!! Joseph abandoned by his brothers, Job lost his family and possessions, Apostle Paul had his thorn in the flesh, many of the apostles were martyred. Need I say more?

2 - Becoming a Christian means giving up all fun and following a life of rules.
When God saves a person, He plants in them a desire to obey His commands and do good works. What's more, He gives them the ability to have joy and peace in spite of their circumstances. And who says you can't have fun as a Christian? We are always joking around and having fun at home and with our friends at church. We can go out and enjoy some recreation or entertainment just like the next guy...it's just that we are more picky about what kind not because we feel we are "following the rules" but because we just don't have a desire for stuff that isn't God-honoring.

3 - All Christians are loving, perfect people.
Not till heaven! We try and we fail and we try again, but since we have remaining sin, it will always raise it's ugly head when we least expect it. That's why we have the Christians bar of soap...1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sin He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." It's not sinless perfection, it's Christ's righteousness covering our sin so God doesn't have to see it, but we have to repent and confess.

4 - Bad things don't happen to truly godly Christians.
Yes they do! Once again, look at Joseph, Job, Apostle Paul and many of the martyrs.

5 - Christian ministers and missionaries are more spiritual than other believers.
No they aren't! They have all the same problems the rest of us do and maybe have to fight it even harder than we do because they are always held up to scrutiny.

6 - Christian churches are always safe places, where you can trust everyone.
I agree with this: For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God!

7 - Christians should never say anything that might offend someone or hurt someone else's feelings.
God never flatters us. He even says our righteousness is as a filthy rag. If that isn't offensive I don't know what is!

8 - As a Christian you should not associate with unbelievers.
On the contrary, how will Christians ever influence others for Christ if they stay closed up in their Ivory Palaces?

9 - Christians should not enjoy any earthly pleasures.
If it is not sinful, then everything in moderation.

10 - Christians always feel close to God.
Nope. Sometimes it seems as if God is silent and distant. But those are the times that our faith can be exercised the most made stronger.
