Years ago when I first started homeschooling, I picked up a copy of Debra Bell's Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling. I loved it. It is written in an easy to understand manner and is set up such that you don't have to read from start to finish. You can use it like a reference tool and read in the areas that interest you at the time. I have found it to be one book that I have referred to over and over again.
