Marsha's Musings: Suffering Wrongfully. (1 Peter 2:19-20 KJV)

For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. (1 Peter 2:19-20 KJV)

A reminder that Peter wrote during the time of Nero who was bent on destroying Christianity and Christians at any cost.  In this light, what he says is remarkable.

Watching the news about the cold blooded murders going on in Iraq and Syria as ISIS purges the land of Christians and others not willing to convert to Islam is indeed frightening and many are being persecuted wrongly simply because they have a conscience toward God.

If this sort of thing came to our soil would we be able to stand and take it patiently if we have done no wrong?  Are we able to take it patiently now, in the job place, if we are treated wrongfully for doing good in God's eyes?  I wonder, would I cave or would I be strong?
