Marsha's Musings: The Best Is Yet to Come! (Hebrews 11:13-16 NKJV)

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them. (Hebrews 11:13-16 NKJV)

Once again, I see here the fact that all the saints of old were promised a land by God and they believed God.

We too are promised a heavenly land.  Do we belive God?  Do we keep this in mind as we go about our daily work?  Will we remember it when times get very tough as they already are on the political landscape?

Christians in our own nation are already losing their businesses and suffering great loss at the hands of those who despise what God has said.  Will we stand firm and continue to believe God, unwavering in the face of the opposition?

The difference is believing God instead of believing in God.  The opposition, no matter how vehemently they deny it, do believe in God.  They would not fight against Him and us if they didn't believe in God. If they didn't believe in God they would just laugh and take their business elsewhere.  They would see no need to remove all Christian words or symbols from their presence, nor would they see a need to put Christians out of business because they don't think the same way they do. They could just laugh and poke a little fun and go on their merry way and tend to their knitting because these are just some looney tune folks with weird ideas. But their actions betray what they say.   Yes, they believe IN God, but they don't believe God.

Those who believe God, know that He is preparing for them a place in heaven and when they die they will go there to be with Him.  No, it's not fun to be the target of those who believe IN God but choose to fight against him, but no matter what they do to us, we can know and believe God, that what He has promised He will do.  Our future is bright no matter what because the best is yet to come!
