Marsha's Musings: Worthy Goals

My Quiet Time:

Do not let a widow under sixty years old be taken into the number, and not unless she has been the wife of one man, well reported for good works: if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work. (I Timothy 5:9, 10 NKJV)

I can't say I understand the first part of this section about not taking a widow under sixty year old into the number.  Not sure if he is saying they should not be allowed to be a member of the church or what unless they meet these qualifications.

1. Wife of one man

2. Well reported for good works

3. Brought up children

4. Lodged strangers

5. Washed the saints feet

6. Relieved the afflicted

7. Diligently followed every good work

Well if nothing else, there are some worthy goals to pursue here.
