It was good to find out that somehow, for the second time with this office, the time was messed up and my calendar was a day off from what their records showed. So I am very relieved I don't have to rush around getting ready to go and can take it slow getting my day started since I am just dog tired this morning. Sigh. Not sure how much will get accomplished today. Just glad school has not started yet.
The weather has cooled down a bit to a more tolerable level although it will still be 90 today. Far better than 99 or 105 like we have been getting. Hoping for some relief to the fire fighters. So many wild fires from lightening strikes burning right now. It's crazy.
It's interesting to think about the fact that as home school parents, we can do much to protect our children from the influences of the world and we think we are "controlling" what comes into our children's lives. But when physical disaster, or natural disasters come to us or friends that we have, we are reminded that we are not in control at all. We are only able to protect our children in so far as God protects them. That is sobering. But it is also a comfort to know that He will only allow into our lives and their lives what He deems best for their spiritual good if they/we are His children. Can I trust Him with that?
