Marsha's Musings: Break from Facebook/First Cause

Got spoiled Saturday night with such a restful night of sleep. Last night was awful. I'm sure I've been laying awake since about 3:30 or 4.  Ugh.  Hate it when that happens. Yesterday was a good day, though.

I've decided it's time for a break from Facebook.  Yes, posts will still go up because my blog posts automatically. There are also scheduled posts and I have capabilities with my iPod to post without going to Facebook.  So I will still be seen on Facebook, but I need to take a break from going to Facebook because it is taking too much of my time.  There is just too many things to read and look at and it's too easy to get carried away. So I deleted my Facebook app from my iPod for now.

I've been thinking about something I read about Jesus saying He came to do His Father's will and He did it. I need to think about what God's will is for me to be doing and eliminate those things that are distracting me from it.

My Quiet Time

Therefore when we could bear it no longer, we were willing to be left behind at Athens alone, and we sent Timothy, our brother and God's coworker in the gospel of Christ, to establish and exhort you in your faith, that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this. For when we were with you, we kept telling you beforehand that we were to suffer affliction, just as it has come to pass, and just as you know. For this reason, when I could bear it no longer, I sent to learn about your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our labor would be in vain. (1 Thessalonians 3:1-5 ESV)

Yesterday I saw where Paul said Satan hindered him from visiting the Thessalonians. Today we see how he was hindered.  It was affliction. I also see that Paul saw it coming.  He was not caught off guard. We aren't told what kind of affliction. It could have been physical or it could have been persecution. Whatever it was he saw it coming. He attributed the immediate cause to Satan as we saw yesterday. But we know from the whole of Scripture and Paul's other writings that God is the first cause of all things.
