Philippians 1:21-30
For the Christian, death means being with Christ. But until God takes us we have work to accomplish for Him here and for the benefit of our fellow Christians.
Paul is convinced God would have him remain with them for a while longer.
We are to behave in such a manner that the Gospel is not impugned. Paul's desire is that we would stand firm in one spirit with one mind, striving together for the Gospel. Am I doing this? Or am I nit-picking at other church members or the pastor?
We are not to be alarmed by those who oppose us. It will be a sign of their impending destructions and of our salvation that comes from God.
Suffering is part of the Christian experience. God has granted us belief in Him and suffering comes with the package. Again, a very different Christianity from what the Health and Wealth preachers preach.
We will experience some of the same types of conflict that Paul did!
