We are to be of the same mind, love and united in spirit. We are to be intent on one purpose. v. 1-2
What is that purpose?
Selfishness is not an option. We #3 not #2 or #1.
Look out for the good of others. v. 3-4
The attitude we should have:
v. 6 humility
v. 7 servanthood to others
v. 8 obedience to God no matter the cost
God exalted Christ for His attitude all to the glory of God.
We should carry the same attitude for the same purpose~to the glory of God the Father. This answers the questions above. v. 9-11
We are to work out in our lives what God has worked into us. v. 12-13
No complaining allowed! No arguing allowed! v. 14
Why? To prove that we are blameless and innocent, children of God, above reproach~so that we may appear as lights in this dark world.
How? By holding fast the word of life v. 16 This is the rest of our purpose in answer to the question above.
How are we doing in this endeavor? How does this apply to some of the issues of nit-picking and complaining about others that often happen in the church? Does this display an attitude of humility and is it glorifying to God? What does this do to our light in a dark world?
