> Romans 1:26-27
>
> Paul is not ashamed of the wrath of God. In fact he begins with the wrath of God.
>
> There is a day of wrath and our time moves forward toward that last day of wrath. But God's wrath is being revealed now.
>
> Verse 25 is the most important. We are made to worship, praise and applaud and man has taken that worship, praise and honor to himself.
>
> We are worshipping all the time. Worth is the reason we act. Worship requires the whole man all the time. Every thought captive to the Lord. Who am I worshipping? Who am I honoring? Most of our actions are centered around self.
>
> Why does Paul deal with the particular sins of homosexuality instead of sin in a general sense. He is talking about how we know the wrath of
> God has been revealed. We know by the fact that God has given them up to their own devices.
>
> Paul may have regarded homosexuality as one sin that shows how deeply man is depraved.
>
> 1. Praise God for His restraining grace in our lives.
> We are all capable of the most heinous sins if God did not restrain us. God has mercy on whom He has mercy and some He hardens by withdrawing His influence in their lives.
>
> Paul is making the point that we know the wrath of God exists because He has removed His restraining grace from some. They are allowed to do what they want to do without God's interference.
>
> Temptation does not put anything into a man, it just draws out what is already there! If God left us alone we would be taken down unmentionable roads of sin.
>
> 2. Homosexuals, like all people are in need of the Gospel. It is not the unpardonable sin.
>
> The Gospel of God is the power of God for salvation toward all who believe.
>
> 1 Cor. 6:9-11 such were some of you.....homosexuals are included in this list and some of them were saved....not an unforgivable sin!
>
> The term homophobia is nonsense. We do not hate the homesexual...we are sinners too and in need of the Gospel just like they are! We are not afraid of the homosexual either.
>
> They are not singled out because of hate...all of us need the Gospel the same as them.
>
> 3. Homosexuality is not natural.
> We live in a culture that wants to say these things are natural and normal. What is that? It's a revelation of God's wrath....He has given them over to themselves. Why try to say it is right, natural and normal? So men and women can ease their consciences.
>
> v. 18 They think they are wise as they become fools.
>
> We see in the existence of homosexuality the depravity of man and the wrath of God.
>
> In our society, to not embrace it is considered hate. What is this? V 18 It is the wrath of God being revealed.
>
> Paul's point in bringing up homosexuality is that if it is a reality, and it is, then the wrath of God is also a reality.
>
> The worst penalty for sin is to love sin. Unknown Author
>
> The exchange the truth of God for a lie. It's an active exchange.
>
> The force that God gives man over to is powerful. It's the power of sin.
>
> The wrath of God will not come because of these things....it has already come upon us for these things.
>
> Jude talks about it
> Leviticus 13 talks about it.
> Lev. 18:22.... talks about it.
>
> The so called Biblical argument for homosexuality has to do with natural vs unnatural. They say the homosexual is acting according to the way God made them vs those who naturally are attracted to the opposite sex but pervert their natural desire and do homosexual acts. They are professing to be wise and being fools.
>
> Rom 1:32 Our culture approves homosexuality...this is warning
>
> The issue of same sex marriage is not with their right to be married but with their rejection of God's laws.
>
> Men will not answer to the laws of the land on the issue on the day of judgment, they will have to answer to the God of the Bible on the day of judgement.
>
> The day of judgement is approaching for all men.
