1 Peter 1:23
having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
God's seed is incorruptible and it is through that seed that we are born again into salvation by grace through faith alone in Christ alone. This is important because we are not saved by our own seed, which is able to be deceived and corrupted, but by the seed of God our Father in Heaven - the Son of God. In this new birth, our righteousness before God is not determined by our performance, but by God's faithfulness.

But none of these things move me, (not knowing what shall befall me v. 23) neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. (Acts 20:24 KJV)
