2 Peter 1:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
This is so important to know! God's Word tells us that He has provided everything that we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
There are many out there who would try to tell you that this is not true. They will say that you must be baptized by certain qualified individuals and into a certain church in order to have all that you need for life and godliness. They will tell you that the Bible is not translated correctly, therefore there are certain parts of it that can't be trusted (Although, they can't tell you what is incorrectly translated. If what you read to them is disagreeable to them, then THAT is the part that is incorrectly translated.)
Beware of those who try to add more to the gospel than what has already been given to us in the Bible. God is powerful and He is powerful enough to preserve His Word down through the ages as He has without losing anything that is essential to our salvation. To say that certain precious parts of the Bible has been lost over time necessitating the need for additional scripture, is simply another way of saying that God is not able to and does not have the power to preserve His Word for us. If God can't do that, then God isn't God and we are of all men most miserable for if He can't preserve His own Word, then how can He preserve our souls from going to Hell?
