Hidden Treasures: Man's Will & God's Will

Compare this verse with John 1:13 below.
Jamess 1:18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Why does anyone receive Jesus?  It is because of the will of God at work in their lives.  Man doesn't initiate it, God does, otherwise man would have something to boast about. All glory goes to God alone.  Man does have a part as he is commanded to believe in Jesus Christ in repsonse to the work of God in His heart. But God initiates that response by first working in a person's heart to move him to believe and receive Christ. So salvation is all a work of God from start to finish.
